Israel in Crisis

If you have not done so yet, please join our Israel Aid Tzedaka Campaign.  We have raised $1400 dollars, but we are still short of our goal of $5000 in order to sponsor a busload of teenagers.  Please help us reach our goal as a community. We have extended the deadline to Monday.

There are several events taking place this week:

NCSY Leads Letter Writing Project for BIAV

Join the BIAV community for an Israel event led by NCSY to write letters to Senators and Congressmen and Israeli soldiers! Decorate Israeli flags! Take pictures in the We Stand with Israel Phone booth! Delicious falafel will be served and face painting for children.  Sunday, 10:30am-12pm at the shul.

Community Solidarity Gathering

On Monday, July 28 at 7:30 PM at Kehilath Israel Synagogue,Alex Goldman-Shayman, Deputy Consul General of Israel to the Midwest will update our community on the current crisis situation in Israel.

Sponsored by The Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City, the Rabbinical Association of Greater Kansas City along with other Jewish community organizations

Tehilim Gathering for Women

This Monday evening is Rosh Chodesh Av and a most appropriate time to come together in prayer, reflection and unity.

Women of the community are invited to recite Tehillim (Psalms), share words of Torah, sing and pray together for the safety of our brothers and sisters in Israel on Monday,           July 28th, at 9 pm in the BIAV Beit Midrash,  AFTER the Community Solidarity Gathering.

Please direct any questions to Ayala Rockoff, ayala@alumni.upenn.edu.

Shloshim for Eyal, Gilad, and Naftali A’H H’YD

Let us gather for the Shloshim of Gilad, Eyal, and Naftali on the 3rd day of Av, Tuesday, evening July 29th after Maariv at approximately 8:45pm, for Tefilot and learning in their memory.

Please choose one Mishna from Pirkei Avot to study and be prepared if you wish to share a message related to the idea of Loving One’s Fellow Jew.
