Today, Tuesday of ParshatBeshalach, the Torah portion Beshalach is a special day. Chazal our Sages tell us that it is extremely prudent to utilize this day to pray for parnassah, livelihood.
It is a widespread and accepted custom to recite “ParshatHamonn,” the portion in the Torah that describes the way Hashem provided the manna for the Jewish people in the desert. This can be found in Sefer Shemot, Perek16: 4-36. The book of Exodus 16: 4-36.
It is customary to read the pesukim sentences twice and the Targum Aramaic translation once, and also to recite a short tefillah prayer for sustenance beforehand.
Reciting this portion reminds us that just as Hashem sustained the Jews then, so too, He – and He alone – provides for each and every one of us now.
With Hashgacha Pratit, Divine Providence, Hashem looks after our every need down to the most minute and seemingly mundane detail
