Bob Kendrick Honored at February 28 Purim Gala
Featuring Baseball & Barbecue at the
Negro Leagues Baseball Museum
Congregation Beth Israel Abraham & Voliner has sponsored Purim Gala for 18 years to honor outstanding community leaders or non-profit organizations who have had an impact on the Greater Kansas City area. This year we’re featuring Baseball & Barbecue— and honoring Bob Kendrick, president of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. What better way to celebrate Kansas City than to pay tribute to the glorious history of KC baseball, as our growing synagogue looks forward to an exciting future!

Purim Gala 2016, chaired by Margie Robinow, will take place on Sunday, February 28, 5 p.m. at the downtown location of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, 1616 E 18th St, Kansas City, Missouri. Located at historic 18th and Vine Streets, the Museum opened in 1990 and houses hundreds of photos and artifacts from the Negro Baseball Leagues, dating back to the 1880s. Purim Gala guests will have the opportunity to tour the museum, watch short historic films, bid on sports memorabilia at the silent auction, all while enjoying gourmet barbecue, entertainment by nationally recognized comedian Danny Lobell, and a special appearance by Joel Goldberg of the KC Royals organization!
